Spotlight - Molly Eckert

Voluforms’ newest addition to the family and our latest Spotlight employee is Molly Eckert, a 2012 graduate of Lee University in Cleveland, Tennessee.  After graduating with a degree in English Literature, Molly decided to return home to southern Indiana to work as a Customer Service Representative (CSR) at Voluforms.  Many family friends already work at Voluforms, including her mother, Wendy Eckert, who is the Chief Operating Officer at Voluforms.  Working with mom is an interesting experience, Molly says, especially separating their business and personal relationships from each other, but it’s a beneficial experience too.

Some of Molly’s hobbies include reading and spending time with her friends and family.  She loves travelling, especially after spending 3 months studying abroad in the United Kingdom and Europe.  She even has pen pals, whom she still writes via snail mail!
Molly just started with Voluforms in early May, but already her favorite part of the day is interacting with her coworkers.  She says the best thing is being able to work together and “solve problems together as one unit.”  Molly has a bright future ahead of her at Voluforms, as well as in the local area.  She is currently considering taking a position as a volleyball coach, in addition to attending graduate school in English Literature this fall at the University of Louisville.
As Voluforms President & CEO Mike Stewart describes, “Molly has grown up in our company. We are proud to have her with us as she continues her goal of obtaining her masters degree.  Molly’s smile and intelligence makes her a pleasure to work with!”  Welcome to the family, Molly!

Spotlight - Ashley Fleming

Ashley Fleming began working with Voluforms in December of last year as a Customer Service Representative (CSR).  She came to Voluforms through connections with current employees.  Her previous experience and interest in customer service made her the perfect candidate for a job with Voluforms.
Ashley is originally from Godfrey, Illinois and attended college at Indiana University Bloomington.  Her first job was with a company that specialized in home refinancing.  One of her favorite hobbies is jewelry making.  She got started last year when she made all the jewelry for the bridesmaids in her wedding.  All the compliments encouraged her to continue making new pieces, and next month she’ll have her first opportunity to sell her jewelry at a spa day for a local church.

At Voluforms, her favorite part of the day is being able to take care of her customers.  Ashley says, “When someone needs something and is having trouble getting it, I’m able to take care of it for them.  Just today, I was able to put something together for a customer who was having trouble finding a custom option.”  She also loves working with her coworkers every day.
As Voluforms President & CEO Mike Stewart describes, “We are proud to include Ashley on our Customer Service team. Ashley’s attitude and knowledge bring confidence to our clients and makes our team stronger. She has a beautiful personality that makes working around her a pleasure.”  Glad to have you on our team, Ashley!

Spotlight - CeCe Hellman

Our latest series of blog posts will be employee spotlights, where we get to know some of the great people who work here at Voluforms!  First in our series is CeCe Hellman, who is a Customer Service Representative (CSR) at Voluforms, where she began working four years ago.

CeCe in her office at Voluforms
Originally from New Albany, Indiana, CeCe moved to Mooresville, Indiana with her family as a teenager.  When her parents moved back to Georgetown, Indiana 13 years ago, CeCe tagged along and built her current home on an acre of their land.
Studying business, CeCe attended college at Indiana University Purdue University Indianapolis.  Her first job after college was with an envelope manufacturer; eventually, she moved on in her career and ended up joining Voluforms.  CeCe loved working with Voluforms as one of her clients from her previous job, and, in her words, she was “lucky enough to come over as an employee” four years ago.
CeCe’s favorite part about being a Voluforms employee is her coworkers.  “They’re awesome,” she says, “and very supportive.  As soon as you walk in, you feel at home.”  CeCe and her coworkers enjoy spending time together outside of work.  She and a fellow CSR even walk 2.5 miles during their lunch break each day.  It’s the overall environment at Voluforms that makes each day enjoyable for CeCe.
Some of CeCe’s favorite hobbies include outdoor activities like fishing, camping, swimming, and horseback riding.  She loves her position as co-leader of the Girl Scouts at Highland Hills Middle School.  Troop 177 just recently achieved the Bronze Award, on their way to earning the Gold Award, which is comparable to the Eagle Scout Award.  Their community service includes working with younger Girl Scouts and planting a garden for the Guerin Woods Retirement Center.
Happy to have CeCe as a member of the Voluforms team, President and CEO Mike Stewart says, “CeCe is loved by our clients and our sales team.  Her skills and positive attitude make working with her a pleasure. We are very lucky to have such a great example of our company philosophy in our organization.”  Thanks for all you do, CeCe!

Did You Know?

Voluforms is a family affair – did you know?  Our company was founded in 1984 by Charles Stewart, whose sons later became co-owners of the business.  Mike and Mark began working for their father in sales and manufacturing, eventually working their way up to become co-owners.

Mike Stewart, President & CEO, Co-Owner
Mike Stewart is our current President and CEO.  In his words, Voluforms puts “a quality product out, and [gives] good customer service at a fair price. It’s worked for our company for 25 years.” Customer service is how Mike describes the secret of Voluforms’ success.

Mark Stewart, Co-Owner

His brother, Mark Stewart, is a Co-Owner.  He agrees that Voluforms is focused on customer service, stating, “Without question, the cornerstone of our company is unparalleled customer service. We don’t go to a customer and say, ‘This is how you are going to do business with Voluforms’. Instead, we ask, ‘How can Voluforms help you succeed?’ We are a service-driven company.”

The Stewart family has helped Voluforms become a successful company, having been acknowledged several times by Print Solutions Magazine as one of their top 100 print distributors.

Caught in the Middle

After the storms and tornadoes just a couple weeks back, Voluforms is still hearing stories from those caught in the middle.  Our employees have been sharing their experiences with us too.  Chris Maheney, Voluform’s VP of Technology, tells his story here:

“I heard the night before that my hometown of Bowling Green, Kentucky might get some of the worst weather it had seen in years. I did not expect to see much bad weather in Henryville and was wondering how bad it would be in Bowling Green, Kentucky. It turns out Henryville would be in the spotlight instead.

After clearing out a closet under the stairwell (not that it would have helped from a direct hit from this size tornado), I walked toward the kitchen to look out to the woods behind the house. The lights flickered and went out as I saw what I now know was one of the smaller tornadoes tearing up trees behind my house. The tops of all the trees in my front yard snapped off at the same time, and I could hear one of them crash against my house. Baseball size hail followed and broke rear windows on the house. I tried to send messages as long as it was possible, but phone service in the area did not last long.

After the storm passed, I was picking up some debris outside when my neighbor returned and told me he had just tried driving around and that it looked like a war zone outside our little neighborhood. (I live only about a half mile from the school and the rest of the area, which was devastated by the larger tornado.) He told me it appeared homes were thrown over the roads both ways, so you could not get out of the area. He also saw people with blood on their faces wandering aimlessly, not knowing where to go for help.

Later that evening I found a way to get to Louisville to get word to family and friends that at least I was okay.”

What an incredible story, Chris! Thanks for sharing with us. Feel free to share your own stories from the Southern Indiana tornadoes here in the comments section or on our Facebook page.

United Efforts

Last October, we featured the son of our warehouse manager, Tim Smith, and his friends, who started A2Z Metal Recycling. Read more about their efforts in our post here

Now, the boys are back again to help out with tornado cleanup efforts in Southern Indiana.

A2Z boys and their families spent their Sunday in tornado ravaged Marysville helping one of the town’s residents clean up piles of metal from her house and garage. They loaded up two trailer loads and one truck load of recycling. They were able to recycle over 2700 pounds of metal and donate 100% of the money made from the haul back to her, which was a total of $830.00. Great work A2Z. Thanks for your efforts!

Webformex

Webformex is an on-line ordering system for forms and supplies and also our feature for the week.

The application offers much more than a traditional on-line ordering feature. The three basic fulfillment components of Webformex are:
  1. Basic on-line order placement - users can transmit an order for delivery, i.e. a package of forms, a box of copy paper, etc.
  2. On-site Printing - users have the ability to print single copies of certain forms on-site, to their local digital copier or laser printer
  3. Dynamic Labeling - users can first interject variable demographic information onto a particular form and then print copies on-site. For instance, a client name and address, a patient's demographic information, a specific list of account features, etc.
Webformex offers many other features such as on-line packets, a series of user-defined forms that are "stitched" together to create a packet for a particular use. Multi-Form Stamping (MFS) is a feature of Webformex that allows users to label multiple copies of a particular form or packet for multiple clients or patients at one time.
Fast Facts about Webformex:
  • Complete integration into your patient database system.
  • On demand printing lets you worry about patient care instead of form management.
  • Form updates happen lightening fast with our top-notch art department.
  • Possibility to store digital images of processed forms.

Giving Back - Employee Spotlight

Our employee spotlight for the month is Tim Smith.  Tim, along with our warehouse employees, created Godswill, a group that collects items to donate to local organizations.  They have done a great job putting this together and with the help of our employees are making an impact in our community.  In a thank you note to Voluforms employees, Tim says,
“We have finished delivering all of our gifts and everyone we donated to was very excited and thankful. We did things a little different this year instead of just buying mass quantities of goods and toys we actually sat down with each organization and got list from them on what they were in the most need of.
Haven House had 11 children this year, ages range from 1-17, each child or parent made a list of clothing/shoes/jackets of what they needed and a special item/toy.  So for each one we were able to get at least two of the clothing type items and their special item, along with each child receiving gloves, hat, toothbrush, combs and goodies/candy.
Noah's Ark asked that we supply filled stockings for each child.  There were 6 children there, ages 6-16, so each stocking was filled with socks, gloves, toothbrush, comb, coupons for free food, candy, watches and a few other items. The NCOC (North Clark Outreach Center) asked if we could supply them with bathroom type items, like soap, shampoo, lotion, shaving cream, razors, deodorant, combs, toothbrushes, etc. We also supplied the Haven House with those same kinds of items, and all were very thankful. We did a great job and got folks things they needed and could really use.
This is the 11th year for Godswill and I can't believe how far we’ve come since the first year, I hope to continue doing this for many more years.
My mother got me started doing this kind of work in our basement at home during Christmas when I was around 13 or 14. We would make up fruit bags to donate to folks that she knew could use some help.  It wasn't much but she said that they would appreciate it and they did.
Ever since then it's been something I’ve strived to do and do bigger every year, and with everyone’s help it has gotten there and now I get to get my children involved and teach them what this is all about.  They went out with us and helped pick out things for each child and place and helped deliver it.  So hopefully one day they will continue this in their own way.
So again, thank you everyone very much and have a very Merry Christmas!!!”
Thanks for all your hard work, Tim, and for making a difference with Godswill and Voluforms in our community!
